So - here I am, a year later and guess what! I'm doin' great! I'm back to work full time (and then some). I have a fairly clean house, the laundry is reasonably done, the yard's a mess but what do you expect on 3 1/2 acres?
So - no, I'm still not 100%. BUT I'm good! I'm happy! Some days are harder than others but for the most part, I've still got a life and that's cool with me.
I'm still committed to the pregnenolone, L-Tyrosine and Emergen-C. 2 days without any of these and I'm toast...I notice the difference and it's not good. The niacin started to cause some fatigue so I don't take it daily - I add it when I feel I need it (maybe once a week) - don't know how to explain that other than to say I recognize a bit of fatigue and I take 1000mgs (with the folic acid & aspirin). It does help when I'm getting sluggish, but isn't a daily staple anymore.
Exercise - stretching...these are good things! I even load hay and build fences from time to time. Gotta love that!
Still gotta watch for days when I'm running slow...yes, I'm still sick! I'm taking the time to rest then and my guilt over that is pretty much gone...it is what it is and I'm just thrilled to be able to have a life at all - so I'll take a day or two here and there without complaint!
Well, at least not complaints about fibro!

Flaky Blogger!
Ha ha! Seriously - it's been MONTHS since I've been on - we don't have internet out here in the sticks! BUT - I'm doing pretty good on my routine. Not much has changed. I'm back on Pregnenalone/DHEA combo...straight DHEA just didn't do it for me. I've also added CLA - not sure it does much either but I'll run through the bottle before making too strong of a judgement.
I also started Nekken magnetic therapy last week. Oh man does that help. It's expensive - and it's a pyramid type deal (which I hate) but it really is helping with pain immensely.
I can't say I'm 100% and I do over-do often...which leads me to still want to find other things that work. I am happy that I've made progress - I'm out of bed and living a semi-normal life, which is huge improvement over a year ago! I'll keep researching!!!

Pregnenalone
I moved and haven't been able to find a Pregnenalone/DHEA combo, so I just went with straight DHEA - and guess what, it's not so good. It's not bad, but I was definitely better on the Pregnenalone.
I also popped my exercise ball and within a few days, all the aches and pains were back!
The niacin still helps too, but I'm down to 500mg/day. And if I miss a dose, it's not as dire as if I miss my Tyrosine or Pregnenalone. Those are just MUST HAVES.
Hope to hear from you soon!

Over-doing!
Sorry I've been off for a bit - I moved and am having trouble with internet at the new house. At any rate...the move was rough...I waaaaay over-did and paid for it big time.
The good news is that I was capable of loading the truck and cleaning the house - it got really hard, especially day 2, but I was actually physically capable. This is a huge deal - a year ago, I would not have made it through the first hour. Recovery has been longer than I would hope...after 10 days, I finally started feeling good again yesterday.
I'm on the same routine of supplements. I haven't gotten my allergy shots in a few weeks, its obvious those were helping be cause I've got puffy eyes and lots of sneezes, which I haven't had in months.
I haven't done much in the way of research but will be starting in on the amino acids again now that I can access the internet!
Be in touch and let me know how you're doing!

I've been overdoing it a bit, but even with the over-doing, I'm feeling pretty good! Today I'm overcome by allergies which is driving me nuts, but for the most part, I've been functioning REALLY well for someone with fibro. Here's an idea of my daily schedule:
4:30 am - the cat wakes me up...really annoying...but I can't go back to sleep so I get up. A cup of coffee (or 2) to get things moving!
5:30 am - Morning supplements and breakfast - within 15 minutes I can't sit still - I've got energy and need to do something!
11 am/Noonish - I start dragging a little - Afternoon supplements help but I'm not nearly as energetic as the morning...I do, however, get through the afternoon much better!
4 pm - that's pretty much it for me, I can still do some things around the house and if I get good rest in the afternoon, I'll have another hour or two of descent energy but if I push myself too hard during the day, I'm toast by now.
8 pm - I'm done - I start to crash and I have to at least get into bed...I try not to take the trazodone & Lysine until 8:30 or 9 so I'm not up even earlier than I already am.
So the last few days I've way over done - especially yesterday and didn't eat well...got home at 6:30 last night, ate and went to bed. I'm a little slower today and feel a little drained, which is a good indicator that my body needs rest.
Supplements:
DHEA/Pregnenolone (10/15 mg)
L-Tyrosine 1000mg
3 packets EmergenC
500mg Niacin
800mcg Folic Acid
1 tab aspirin/1 tab ibu
Also added a little salt to boost blood pressure throughout the day as needed - don't do this unless you are certain your blood pressure is low - I tend to run really low so I'm confident that this helps without pushing me up to unsafe high levels

Another fantastic day! I just can't tell you how great I feel. I can still over-do it, I can feel it when I am, but as long as I get adequate rest, I'm good to go!
I've left a key issue off my posts - sleep! A sleep study showed that I don't get into 3rd & 4th stages of sleep. I tried lots of meds, Ambien, Lunest, etc., but they were overkill and quite frankly, it freaked me out. I started taking trazodone about 6 or 7 months ago. It's helped a lot at 50mg, but lately I've felt it, which isn't a good thing, a good sleep agent helps you sleep, it doesn't slam you to where you feel hungover. I stopped taking it and felt like I wasn't sleeping well, so now I'm on 25mg. I also added L-Lysine at night. Not sure if the Lysine is the thing that is helping so I'll probably try to drop the Trazodone again. I also might try tryptophan. We'll see.
Sleep is so important. Our sensativity to pain increases when we don't get enough deep sleep.
All supplements are the same today.

Another good day. I think the Niacin is adding even more energy, which is AWESOME! The DDD was painful at night...I don't think I did enough stretching and moving around.
